Botswana Highlights Private-Sector Investment and MSME Growth

On 3 November, the Finance Minister emphasised that Botswana's economic transformation programme must translate investment plans into operating businesses, employment and wider economic opportunities. The African Development Bank's US$503.75 million financing approved on 23 October includes support for MSMEs, with a target of 3,292 active MSMEs by 2027/28. This is previously approved financing rather than a new venture-capital round. HPC can support startup research, investor connections and business-development partnerships.
